Summary

I am a builder and leader in clean energy and climate tech, with ten years in energy industry software, deep technical and domain expertise, and a long-term focus on climate change.

As a product manager, full-stack software engineer, and solutions engineer, I've built complex energy modeling products end-to-end to accelerate DER deployment and grid decarbonization. In my spare time, I've built custom BESS systems to replace generators, managed logistics to replace diesel truck hauling with EVs, and organized volunteer ecosystem restoration projects.

I am seeking roles that leverage my technical skill, product leadership, and domain expertise, with mission-driven teams focused on decarbonization.

Work Experience

Staff Positions

GridX

Senior Product Manager April 2024 - December 2025

Senior product manager for GridX Design, enabling advanced utility tariff design and modeling at sub-penny accuracy. Successfully led development from functional prototype through product launch. Planned and executed operational throughput increases through tooling enhancement. Managed global remote engineering, design and operations teams. Developed product roadmap and managed feature prioritization. Successfully built cross-team consensus to manage competing business priorities.

Arcadia

Product Manager IV November 2022 - April 2023

Founder of Utility Tariff Data Squad. Led global remote team responsible for internal tariff data tools. Led user research sessions, built prototypes, and shipped new features to improve operations efficiency and throughput.

Software Engineer IV September 2021 - November 2022

Full-stack engineering for internal tariff data tools. Designed, built and shipped integration features across multiple services from newly-acquired companies, written in a combination of Rails, Python, Typescript, GraphQL and PostgreSQL, enabling new capabilities for Arcadia’s Arc platform.

Genability (acquired by Arcadia)

Solutions Engineer June 2020 - September 2021

Led architecture, design and engineering of greenfield internal tariff modeling application, from wireframe concept through product launch. Managed global remote engineering team. Partnered with operations team to increase operational throughput.

Co-created Solutions Engineer role, providing custom technical solutions for customers including the largest DER providers and EV companies in the United States. Led consultations with customers, led research and prototyping, and delivered functional software, documentation, and implementation guidance.

Software Engineer December 2014 - August 2016

Designed, built and deployed interactive data visualizations for savings analysis data, illustrating energy usage, DER generation, and cost. Enabled customers without internal engineering resources to rapidly onboard Genability's products. Designed & built re-usable component system, enabling rapid composition of new interactive visualizations.

Street Sheet

Editor-in-Chief December 2013 - February 2015

Managed all content, layout, and printing of bi-weekly newspaper, distributed for free to low-income & unhoused vendors. Recruited and trained volunteer contributors. Coordinated vendor program.

Led design refresh and ad campaign for Street Sheet's 25th anniversary (2015). Won competitive grant funding, led a committee of seven people, collaborated with a designer on a new logo and visual design, created an ad concept and wrote copy, earned local media exposure, and organized a successful launch event.

Freelance, Contract and Independent

Data Journalist/News Applications Developer

2016 - 2020

Led and contributed to projects combining original reporting, data engineering, and software engineering. Key projects include:

  • Full-stack engineering for Workbench, sponsored by Columbia University (2017-2018), building a drag-and-drop data pipeline interface linking React and D3 components to a Python/Pandas backend.
  • Full-stack engineering (Python, JavaScript, D3) on interactive election data visualization tools for ProPublica (2018)
  • Producing data-driven reporting on climate risk, including design and engineering of a map-based visualization of projected future flood and fire risk across California, for Atlantic CityLab (2019)

Creative Producer/Art Fabricator

2019 - present

I have led multiple large-scale interactive art installations through development, fundraising, production and performance. I have built and led teams of 30+ people and managed budgets up to $25,000. My work has appeared in art festivals, self-produced exhibitions, and permanent public art installations.

All of my work in remote locations has been powered by custom large-scale solar and battery systems, and where possible, used EVs for towing. I wrote the most comprehensive guide to date on towing large art installations to the Black Rock Desert, including detailed logistical and technical considerations.

I also work as a contract art fabricator, including design and fabrication of power systems and specialized technical interactive components, involving custom circuit design and MCU programming. Key recent projects include:

  • Lighting and battery system for The Junction Keep (Laurus Myth, 2025)
  • Lighting, solar, and battery system for One Tin Soldier (Mark Deem/Misfit Toys, 2024-25)
  • Lighting, sensors, and motor control systems for Urban Putt San Jose (2023)
  • Lighting, robotics, and live analog broadcast systems for Fight Court (Swing Shift Studio, 2023)
